LEGO Star Wars

I am so ticked off. My LEGO Star Wars game, the first one--the one with I, II, and III on it--won't run on Vista, which occupies one of the two computers in my home, and our other computer doesn't have a compatible graphics card. After we'd installed and uninstalled it on one computer, and installed it on the other did I come to this conclusion. Advice: Don't install any computer program or game without checking to see if your computer is compatible. Especially if it's a particularly big file or program.

The Core

What exactly is the Core? It is a term used to describe the central area of the galaxy, and was also called the Imperial Core, during the Imperial Era, of course, and the Galactic Core. The Core Worlds were the heavily populated, very important planets and/or systems situated around the Core. Planets are oft described with their distance from the Core. Example: Utapau is 51,000 light years from the Core. It is a good indicator, except for the fact that you don't know in what direction to travel to get there. I'd think it would be a whole lot harder to travel in 3-D instead of our 2-D roads, for which it is simple to construct a map. It is debated whether humankind came from one of the Core Worlds, Coruscant in particular, though there is no material evidence.

Kouhuns

I am a poisonous millipede and I tried to kill Senator Amidala. Who am I? A kouhun (cow-HOON)! These footlong anthropods were given to Zam Wesell by Jango Fett as a means to assassinate Senator Amidala. Kouhuns possess four- to ten- centimeter long stinger tongues and a fatal bite. Native to Induomodo, these creatures were also found on Outer Rim planets, such as Geonosis and Tatooine, but also on Core Worlds including Coruscant. These hardy bugs can survive on almost any terrain but extreme cold. Kouhuns can be red, white, black, or brown, dependant on the breed of bug.

Kamino

Included in Attack of the Clones, you might know this planet, but not as well as you think. There's more to Kamino (kuh-MEE-no) than tall people and water. There are three known moons, one of which is named: Korasa (cor-OS-suh). It is 70,000 light years from the Core, its day is 27 hours long, and its year is 463 Earth days. Long ago, fierce climactic changes flooded all the continents, leaving the tall, elegant Kamioans to figure out how to live on a planet completely covered with water. The Kaminoans can only see ultraviolet light, so the white walls of Jango Fett's lounge there were actually shaded for the Kaminoans. This planet was erased from the Jedi Archives either when Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas made an order for a Clone army for the Republic, or when Darth Tyranus, Count Dooku, killed him to keep the army secret. Taun We was the female Kaminoan who gave Obi-Wan a tour through the Clone life cycle in Attack of the Clones. The prime minister was a male called Lama Su. Also, a species called the Aiwhas carried the Kaminoans in and above water. Those are the two native species of Kamino.

Twi'lek

You may not know the word Twi'lek (TWY-leck) when you hear it, but when you see well-known members of this race, you might find you know a bit more about them than you thought. Aayla Secura and Bib Fortuna are members of this race, and many of Jabba's slaves are either Twi'lek or Rodian. Their skin ranges in color from every color of the rainbow to brown, white, and dark gray. They are also well-known for the two brain-tails, or lekku. They had no hair on their bodies, except for eyelashes, and some had eyebrows tattooed on. Learned something? I'll bet you have; even I have learned from writing these little bios.

Yevetha

In the first Star Wars book I read, the one written by an author I was told could not write, the prologue and the rest of the book involved the Yevetha (YEH-vuh-thuh), a species of which I was ignorant until then. They are an unbecoming species with footlong dewclaws that extend from the insides of their wrists. Nil Spaar, the vile leader in Before the Storm, rebelled against the crumbling Empire, and coldbloodedly killed the human leader. They vaguely resemble humans, but are green or yellow as far as skin color, and have six fingers. Sacrifices play an important part in culture, however vile it is.

Timothy Zahn

When I went looking for better Star Wars authors, because my friend had told me that the author of the book I'd been reading was horrible, the librarian, God bless her, told us that the best Star Wars author she'd come across was Timothy Zahn. He is wonderful. He does use the word "other" to name one of two interacting characters too much, though. But the first book is Heir to the Empire, and it's really good.

Vornskrs

Vornskrs (VORN-skurz) are Force-sensitive predators of Myrkr. Nonsentient, they often mistake Jedi or other Force-sensitive people for their favorite prey: ysalamiri, who have developed Force-free bubbles as a defense against the vornskrs hunting techniques. Vornskrs weapons include whiplike, venomous tails, teeth, claws, and, of course, the Force. Talon Karrde domesticated two vornskrs for pets while on Myrkr, by cutting off the slightly venomous tails, and found that doing this made the two beasts a good bit tamer.

Waiting, waiting...

I hate having to wait for library books. I finished the first of what appears to be the third Star Wars trilogy, and when we went to the library, it was checked out. That is the only problem with libraries that you can honestly criticize reasonably. But it was such a drop-off of an ending! It's Christmas Break now, and I can't even remember the ending, probably because I'm now rereading Eldest for the third time (I've read Eragon five or six times). I'm also getting at least one book for Christmas, so the waiting list is getting ever longer, which means I won't be able to read the other two for a very long time. Pooh.

Wookieepedia

On my looking-for-juicy-Star-Wars-stuff rampages, I have discovered http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page, but to get there you can just type wookieepedia.com. The majority of my interplanetary knowledge is gleaned from this site completely devoted to Star Wars. If you are ignorant of the subject matter, then simply look it up on this wonderful website.

Saphira

Hello!

I ditched the Eragon Commentary! blog, and I'm delving into the Star Wars books and movies. I am still new to this, despite my small experience in the other blog, and I refuse to use "computer language" such as lol or idk. I also refuse to use incorrect grammar, because that bothers me. I don't know why, though...

Anyway, this time my poll will be, "What is your favorite Star Wars creature?" The options are vornskrs, wookiees, ewoks, or Trandoshans. Think about it.
