He was right! Dioxis (dye-OX-iss), better recognized as merely poison gas. Used frequently by the Neimoidians involved in the Trade Federation, it was mentioned in The Phantom Menace. Obi-Wan Kenobi ran into this fatal toxin twice--above Naboo, when sent to negotiate with Nute Gunray of the Trade Federation with Qui-Gon Jinn, and thirteen years later on Cato Neimoidia, though this is not set in stone; it was also identified as swamp gas.
